A difficult financial situation poses a threat to students who are trying to finish their studies. This problem is aggravated if these students play an important role in the family´s economy.
After completing a high school education, teenager’s expectations at home rise to becoming a provider for their family, shifting their desire for a college education to a secondary priority. The added responsibility and the constant financial worries cause teenagers to restart the cycle of financial difficulties for them and their future generations.
We want to break this cycle!
We have identified a number of students who are currently undergoing socio-economic struggles and we are providing the necessary resources for them to better focus on their studies. These students are currently in medicine school and have a successful track record of grades, attendance, and participation. Nevertheless, they have demonstrated how their personal situation has derailed that success.
We aim to provide the resources on a monthly basis and provide mentoring resources to ensure this student gets back on track to succeed in their career. They, in return have to present a plan on how they expect to utilize our resources.
